  • The client had launched an ambitious sustainability programme but lacked mature governance and reporting processes to support credible disclosures. The co‑founder led the design of a sustainability information governance framework and a Workiva‑based ESG reporting solution integrated with Enablon. This improved consistency, assurance readiness, and shortened the annual reporting cycle.

Problem

  • The organisation wanted to report progress across people, planet, and product pillars, but processes and governance varied significantly by geography. Calculation methodologies were inconsistent, and strict reporting timelines left little room for robust checks or course correction.
  • Without a unified governance and reporting model, the company risked publishing incomplete or inconsistent information, facing external scrutiny, and over‑burdening local teams every reporting cycle.

Solution

  • This work was led by TreeLynk co‑founder Inesh Singh in a previous role, before establishing TreeLynk.
  • The team focused on two core elements:
    • Governance framework: Developed a sustainability information governance structure, including policies, accounting manuals, and clear ownership for ESG data collection and reporting, with specific focus on climate metrics.
    • Reporting solution: Designed and implemented an end‑to‑end reporting solution on Workiva, integrated with the existing Enablon data platform, to streamline data flows and automate key steps in the reporting process.

Key enhancements included:

  • Data certification processes and validation checks.
  • Semi‑automated accounting and reporting workflows.
  • Documentation to support assurance on global climate data.
